About Us:

Welcome to the Ocean Park Civic League Website!

Ocean Park Civic League is a neighborhood association made up of concerned residents who are involved and committed to protecting and improving our neighborhood and its ways of life from the beach to the streets and properties. There are an estimated 1500 residences in Ocean Park.

Ocean Park, geographically, is the area West of the Lesner Bridge (Lynnhaven Inlet) and East of Baylake Pines. We are bordered to the South by the Lynnhaven estuary and to the North by the Chesapeake Bay. South of Shore Drive, the Western boundary is Pleasure House Creek, just to the West of Marlin Bay Drive, up to the 7/11 at Shore Drive and Shady Oaks Drive and then North to the Bay up to and including the westernmost properties of Aries on the Bay.

While OPCL works for all our great neighbors, we need your participation and volunteering. Don’t wait until a problem is too large to deal with. Get involved proactively and meet your neighbors.
Our present top issues (please read our letters, testimonies and minutes on this site) are as follows:

1. Working with the Shore Drive Community Coalition on the difficult issues regarding Pleasure House Point and Indigo Dunes.

2. Ensuring that Shore Drive Improvements (beautification) are made without turning it into a six lane highway and involving the community in the decision making process.

3. Working with the city on the Lesner Bridge replacement and the dredging site.
4. Ensuring that property owners develop their lots sensibly under existing guidelines to preserve our quaint neighborhood and prevent a wall of condominiums from permanently changing our look and feel.

5. Addressing issues as they arise that pertain to public safety, quiet enjoyment and maintaining property values.

6. Educating our residents as to safety issues and avoiding problems so we continue to maintain our area as one of the safest in the city.

Read our posted documents, read our newsletters, and come to our meetings and social gatherings. This is your neighborhood. Get involved now… before it is too late!
